A wiki template is used to insert wiki text into a wiki page automatically, and often by specifying the values of one or more template parameters.
For example, to automatically link to a book, using only the ISBN number, you can use the Book link template, which would look like this: {{book link|0393035158|The End of Faith}} And which would produce this link automatically: The End of Faith
