Since the age of the internet the world has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of people who no longer believe in a god. The internet has offered a place for atheists to feel free to speak their mind without the typical repercussions that came from questioning god belief in the past. For years religion has sought to quell the atheist voice whether through intimidation, censorship, or outright terrorism.

Since the boom of the Internet Age, the world has seen a dramatic rise in the number of people who identify themselves as atheists. The Internet has served as a safe haven for non-believers to speak their mind freely, without facing the typical repercussions that come from publicly questioning belief in a deity. For centuries, atheists have been crippled in their attempts to find each other and organize, through the concerted efforts of organized religion to quell the voice of non-believers using social ostracization, intimidation, censorship, and outright violence. However, the Internet has changed all that. Atheists are now coming forward in droves online to discuss their ideas, personal stories, reasons for living without religion, and also to connect and organize with fellow non-believers!

Many atheists have come forward to discuss their experiences, their thoughts, their struggles, and the reasons they live without religion.  These concepts are not new, but the amount of people who have access to them are. Religious people are now able to freely research what atheists have to say and when given enough time and information religious people tend to come to the same conclusion as atheists. There is not enough information or proof to warrant belief in a god, or at the bare minimum... atheists deserve to live their life without religious intrusion or ridicule.

While some of these websites hold disagreements with each other, the ideas  driving Atheism United are about solidarity, the notion that our commonalities far outweigh our differences, and the belief that we are more powerful united than divided.

The pages attached to this category house every atheist, agnostic, bright, humanist, skeptic, non-believer, secular website we could find.  Throughout the process of building this site there were atheists who have added to these pages a name of a website that they held a strong disagreement with.  This site is about solidarity.  We do have some basic commonalities.  For now, the one we can all agree on is that we live without a belief in a god.
